 When my husband and I began our fostercare/adoption journey, we always wondered if we would be a match for a child.  We wondered if we would be able to provide the child with all that he/she needed.  ​We wondered what happened when a child is being rescued from their home with nothing but the clothes on their back and the shoes on their feet.  We wondered what happened when it is the middle of the night, and no one is picking up the phone and can take the child in. 

​If we were nervous and had so many questions, we could only imagine what a child might would feel and we could only imagine how damaging it would be to their mental, social & physical health.​ That is why we are more than happy to Be The Bridge for a child.  

At the beginning of the journey, a child is scared and confused about why they are being moved from the only home that they know.​ But a child does not have to go through this journey all on their own. 

Be The Bridge - Foster SC  provides a 24-hour safe haven for children who enter state protective custody. Food, clothing, shelter, comfort, entertainment, counseling, and love are all things they can expect to find during this pivotal time in their journey. Be The Bridge-Foster SC is open all day, every day so that Social Services does not have to worry about not being able to find a place for the child to stay in the late hours of the night. 

In entering Be The Bridge - Foster SC facility, a child can expect to be welcomed by friendly faces who want to provide them with care, nurturing, and therapy. ​Afterall, we know that it is not the bridge that scares you, it is the crossing. It is the not knowing what lies ahead on your journey. It is the fear of never making it to the other side. Be The Bridge is here to make a child's journey safe, easy, and successful. ​
